Design industry awards
For the 2019 Annual, Apple’s Harriet Devoy and Wieden+Kennedy’s Richard Turley wanted to create something that played with the immediacy of modern platforms of communication and the ephemeral nature of creativity.
The approach was to not overthink things and to embrace the rawness of creative response. In pursuit of this, design formalities were disregarded, mistakes and changes of direction were incorporated and imperfections embraced. The finished product is purposefully unrefined and under-produced. The clumsy handwritten script was inspired by and created on touchscreen tablets. The fluorescent green ink intentionally jumps out of the sparsely populated covers and endpapers.
